He got the degree of Doctors of Medicine in 1989 and engaged in the research of endocrine and metabolic medicine at Tokushima University. He has been a board member and specialist in several medical societies, such as diabetes, primary care, anti-aging medicine, integrative medicine (IM), music therapy and sports medicine. He was the chairperson of the 8th annual conference of Japanese Primary Care Association (JPCA) in 2017 with 4,500 attendees.

Yujie Zhu, M.D., Ph.D., a Senior Member of IEEE, is a recognized scientist in cardiac electrophysiology, electrocardiogram algorithm and interpretation, and biomedical engineering. He is currently working in Division of Cardiovascular Disease, University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA. He serves as Executive Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Cardiovascular Disease Research, and Associate Editor for Journal of Advances in Cardiology Research. He serves on the editorial boards for Med One, Journal of Cardiology and Therapy, SM Journal of Cardiovascular Disorders, and Journal of Pharmaceutical Negative Results. He serves as a reviewer for many prestigious international cardiovascular journals. He received several awards. He has authored and coauthored many papers. Dr. Zhu’s research interests include electrocardiogram algorithm and interpretation, electrophysiological properties of cardiac ion channels, mechanisms of arrhythmia, and application of biomedical engineering for cardiovascular disease.

Renata Palma’s current research focuses on analyzing the extracellular matrix in decellularized equine lungs (Asma’s model). She has completed her PhD at the age of 34 years in 2015 from Nove de Julho University with Doctoral Exchange Program at School of Medicine, University of Barcelona where she developed methods to an evaluated vascular mechanic during the decellularization lung protocol.

She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at São Paulo University and Professor at Nove de Julho University in physiotherapy. Renata is the academic advisor for master students in the field of lung diseases and has published some papers in reputed journals.
